- Prepare and groom dogs prior to bathing
- Bathe and clean dogs
- Clean and maintain equipment used for grooming or removing hair from animals
- Control and restrain animals
- Dry dogs and prepare their coats for styling
- Basic trimming of a dog’s coat
- Maintain the cleanliness and bio security of the animal care working environment
Level 3
What you will learn:
- Carry out styling and finishing of dogs
- Assess and plan dog grooming work
- Promote and maintain the health and well-being of animals
- Health checking a dog by a dog groomer
- Hand stripping a dog
- Style and trim a breed standard’s coat
- Style and trim a short or long legged terrier’s coat
- Style and trim a drop coat
- Style and trim a combination coat
- Carry out a first aid simulation on a dog
- Carry out a risk assessment
- Handle payments from clients
